In the era of 1950s, the trace of early history of Veterinary Services in Province Wellesley South was through the services offered by Mr. Baskaran Nair and Mr. John Abel who were then stationed in Province Wellesley Central, Bukit Mertajan.

However beginning from 1965, the services began in a building which was originally called Sungai Bakap Malay School with the cooperation from the Education Ministry.

The present office was opened around the year 1970 and is situated opposite the Jawi Police Station.

Since 1983 Dairy Industry Program was implemented and the first Milk Collecting Centre (MCC) was constructed in Sungai bakap.
